About me

I was inspired by my own personal experience of Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy to begin training as a psychotherapist.

For over 20 years I have meditated and attended retreats which led me to training in mindfulness-based psychotherapy. I am now a senior trainee in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy (UKCP accredited). This followed on from training as a mindfulness teacher with Mindfulness UK and Mindfulness Association.

I have lived in London and Brighton (Hove, actually) and have a 20-year career in the civil service.

I discovered the practice of Core Process Psychotherapy after initially being introduced to Kum Nye (a Tibetan meditative movement practice) by Maura Sills at a London Insight day retreat, and then completed a one-year training in Kum Nye.

Maura Sills, founder of Core Process Psychotherapy, suggests that as wounding happens in relationship then healing needs to happen in relationship too. This for me, is the heart of the practice of psychotherapy, the relationship between therapist and client and how we can work together.

My training as a mindfulness teacher with Mindfulness Association and Mindfulness UK taught me about the power of awareness particularly when combined with compassion practices. At my workplace I led a weekly group in mindfulness techniques, initially in person and then online, before and during, the Covid pandemic.

I have attended many retreats and courses over the years at Gaia House, with Triatna (formerly Friends of Western Buddhist Order); day and weekend long teachings at London Insight and Samye Ling with teachers such as Lama Zangmo, Martine and Stephen Bachelor, John Peacock, Sharon Salzburg, Christina Feldman and Maura Sills amongst others.

My practice adheres strictly to the UKCP Code of Ethics, ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality and professional conduct. By upholding these ethical guidelines, I prioritize the well-being and privacy of each client, fostering a trusting and secure therapeutic relationship.
